Privacy & Safety

Reporting abuse can be risky. This is how we protect you, in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

What we collect

Only what you choose to send: your report, any evidence you attach, and — unless you report anonymously — the contact details you give us. For polls we store a one-way scrambled code of your connection (never your IP address) to stop repeat voting.

How we use it

To review your report, give you legal advice or support, and take action such as petitions, FOI requests or litigation. We never publish your identity without your clear permission.

Who can see it

Only LACIVLER officers handling your matter. Evidence files are stored in a protected folder that is not publicly accessible. We do not sell or share your data.

Staying safe

If someone checks your phone, use a private/incognito tab, delete chats after sending, and use the Quick exit button on the report page. If you are in immediate danger, call 112.

Your rights

You can ask us to show, correct or delete what we hold about you: info@lacivler.org.
